Health and Education use locally-sourced produce as much as possible
The Department for Education, Sport and Culture and the Department of Health and Social Care both use Manx meat as much as possible.
That's according to the replies to House of Keys questions for written answer posed by Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson.
For education, 100% of beef and lamb used is Manx, while for health, it's all beef, lamb, pork and sausages.
Both departments say they only source meat from off-Island (particularly chicken and turkey) when they are unable to do so locally.
All of it is purchased through Manx butchers.
Dr Allinson says that's reassuring:
