Cronk ny Merriu will be 'scarred for some time'
Manx National Heritage says it's 'extremely disappointed' by recent littering and fire damage at an historical site on the Island.
The issues have been reported at Cronk ny Merriu - a 2000-year-old Manx promontory fort in Port Grenaugh known as 'Hill of the Dead'.
It's not the first time it's happened.
MNH says a previous episode, involving a disposable barbecue, resulted in a fire spreading to the cliff which was only extinguished with the help of the emergency services.
Whilst the recent fire didn't spread to the headland, it's thought the scars left behind on the ground will remain for 'some time to come'.
It's reminding people that it's against the law to damage ancient monuments.
