Offshore think-tank reveals survey results
Manx households spend more of their internet outgoings on food and drink than their Channel Island counterparts.
The figures were revealed in a survey on online shopping by think-tank Island Global Research.
The study found the average home here in the Isle of Man shells out on average £6,974 per year on the web - that's almost a thousand pounds more than Guernsey (£6,127), but substantially less than Jersey (£7,451).
And while the Manx spend the highest proportion of their online budget on groceries (14%), furniture and household items (14%), we are likely to spend less on clothing, footwear (11%) and cosmetics (4%) than the other Crown Dependencies.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, we also click away more cash than Jersey and Guernsey on motoring.
But the biggest difference is in what Islanders spend on booking their holidays online.
While the Channel Islands spend on average more than £4,000 on going away each year, Manx households spend just shy of £3,300.
