11 Island competitors heading to Northern Ireland this weekend
The Isle of Man's powerlifters are relishing the opportunity to compete, for the first time, at an event which will pit them against top opposition from the UK.
Manx Powerlifting is sending an 11-strong squad to the 2023 Home Nations Championships which will take place in Newtownabbey near Belfast, Northern Ireland this Saturday (4 November).
Team member Jo Corr thinks it shows 'amazing progress' for the sport locally.
She told Manx Radio just taking part could build important bridges and experience for the future:
