MHK expected to ask DESC what's being done to make the subjects more popular
An MHK is warning Manx pupils are being done a 'disservice' over a lack of promotion of STEM subjects.
Dr Michelle Haywood has an extensive academic background but is becoming increasingly concerned at the 'decline' in the sciences, technology, engineering and maths.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture recently set out a Skills Strategy designed to upskill workers in current and emerging sectors.
But Dr Haywood says education sets the 'tone' for what the Island will look like in a decade's time:
