Tribute to 'well known and very popular figure'
Manx Radio Presenter Mike Buttell has died.
Mike first started at the station almost 25 years ago, presenting a number of different music programmes, including Drive and the late night Saturday slot.
Before this, he was already well known for being part of the DJ team at the Port Disco in Port Erin during the 70s and 80s.
Last year Mike returned to Manx Radio presenting and producing a series of programmes on the Island’s heritage transport system, before taking the reins of the station's new seventies music programme.
After several months in hospital in the UK, Mike passed away peacefully at Walton this morning.
