Weather proves problem for seabirds
More than 140 Manx shearwaters have been rescued from a beach in Pembrokeshire, after the seabirds were caught up in stormy weather.
According to a report in the County Echo and St David's Chronicle, the majority of the seabirds were rescued by the RSPCA.
Sadly, a number of them were euthanised.
Around a hundred were also found dead.
Large populations of Manx shearwaters are based in west Wales - where inclement conditions can blow them off course.
In recent years, there have been efforts on the Calf of Man to increase the number of the ground-dwelling seabirds, whose numbers have been decimated by rodent predation.
