Reassurance from MSR
Manx Sport and Recreation is reassuring parents that sport on the Island is safe.
It follows the highly publicised abuse scandal in English Football.
MSR says over 600 coaches and volunteers have attended safeguarding and protecting children workshops since 2005.
All coaches must also have been to a 3 hour emergency first aid course as well and pass a police check.
Senior Sport Development Officer Gianni Epifani says each sport on the Island follows standard practice in safeguarding:-
