Rise in dog waste risks public water supply says MU
Manx Utilities says dogs will be banned from the Island's reservoirs if there isn't an 'immediate improvement' in owners picking up after their pets.
There's been an increase of dog waste not being collected at the sites, the organisation says, which "spoils the environment for the majority of visitors and is hazardous to staff."
It's thought most users are considerate, but a spokesperson said: "the disrespect of these locations by a few really is unfair for the many."
A statement also added that: "drainage from pathways and grassed areas run into water which is used for our public water supply."
