Vessel was taken down to reduced speed
The Isle of Man Steam Packet has confirmed the Manxman experienced a 'minor issue' en route to Heysham today.
This meant the vessel had to reduce speed.
In a statement, released to Manx Radio, the company said: "Engineers investigated and quickly rectified with the vessel being back up to speed in less than 20 minutes.
"Passengers on board were kept informed at all times."
Her return journey to Douglas was impacted as a result.
It was due to leave the Lancashire port at 2:15pm but didn't leave until 3:55pm.
In a follow-up statement, the company told Manx Radio: "As reported, the minor issue was rectified during passage.
"The departure from Heysham was delayed due to the vessel’s late arrival at the port, plus heavy traffic on both inbound and outbound sailings, due to the MGP and Bank Holiday weekend".
