Steam Packet confirms no passengers or crew were injured
The Steam Packet Company says it's responded to an incident involving Manxman overnight, which has resulted in damage to the vessel as she entered Heysham Port.
The operator confirmed no passengers or crew were injured in the incident, and the vessel will remain in Heysham at this time.
The Ben-my-Chree, which had been providing freight cover during the Manx Grand Prix period, has taken as many passengers that were booked to travel on Manxman as she can carry, and departed Heysham shortly after 5am.
The Steam Packet says it will release further updates as details are known.
Contingency plans are being put in place for over the Manx Grand Prix and Bank Holiday Weekend, while the relevant authorities have been informed.
This morning's 8.45am sailing is delayed and will now be operated by the Ben-my-Chree.
