It's becoming harder to find a rental home with a pet
The ManxSPCA has seen a increase in people bringing their pets to the charity due to accommodation issues.
Three dogs and three cats have been taken in because their owners could not find a rental property that would allow them.
One of the dogs has boarded there for three months.
PR and fundraising coordinator Krysia Boruch says the charity is being used as a “last resort” for many who have exhausted all other options:
Meanwhile the chairman of the Isle of Man Landlords' Association says there are various reasons why people don't want pets in their rentals.
Maintenance, damage to property and other tenants or neighbours with pet allergies are just some of the reasons according to Alan Burrows.
He says government hasn't helped the situation by 'interfering' in the rental market:
