Now Playing Four Tops Standing In The Shadow Of Love

Mathew Rennie confident of victory in national title fight

Unbeaten Manxman faces Sean Noakes at Wembley Arena tomorrow (7 Dec)

Isle of Man boxer Mathew Rennie potentially stands on the brink of national glory after working his way through the boxing ranks.

The undefeated Manxman faces Sean Noakes at Wembley Arena in London tomorrow (7 December) for the English Welterweight Title.

The occasion comes just a few weeks after his most recent bout - a points win over Serge Ambomo in Liverpool - which saw him stretch his pro record to 14 wins and one draw.

Rennie told Manx Radio to win this weekend would be the realisation of a dream he's had since a very young age:

The fight will be part of 'The Magnificent 7' show which will be broadcast live on TNT Sports tomorrow evening.

The event is being part-organised by Warren Boxing Management whom Rennie signed for after leaving VIP Boxing Promotions in October this year.

He's one of three Island pro boxing competitors in action this month.

Jamie Devine and Jade Burden are both due to be in action at the same event at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool on Sunday, 15 December.

Elsewhere, Mathew's younger brother Sam claimed his second professional victory in Australia on 29 November against Indonesian opponent Dedi Elite in Perth.
