48-year-old told him: "I'm going to slice your head in"
A Douglas man will be sentenced next month after threatening to stab his neighbour during an argument in the street.
Ian Ronald Goldsmith, of Taubman Terrace, pleaded guilty to a public order offence during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
The 48-year-old accepted he’d behaved in a way likely to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence outside his property on 7 April.
The court heard Goldsmith had begun shouting at the man who was getting out of a car at around 8pm; the two men have known each other for 15 years and have been in prison together.
He made threats including: “I’m going to slice your head in,” and “I’m going to stab you,” before running towards the car that the man had got back into.
Goldsmith then sent a number of voice messages via Snapchat repeating the threats before he was arrested.
A social enquiry report has been requested before he’s sentenced on 23 May; he’s been bailed, to a different address, until that date.
