Symbolic gesture to raise awareness of life-limiting illness
Rows of empty shoes will occupy the stairway at the Legislative Buildings in Douglas to raise awareness of those with a life-limiting illness.
The display will take place next week on M.E. Awareness Day (Fri 12 May), to show solidarity with the estimated 350 sufferers on Island.
Symbolising the feeling of being unable to take part in society, it's been arranged by the local M.E society, and is open to the public between 12 and 2pm.
Iconic sites around the Island like the tower of refuge, Pulrose power station and the Ramsey swing bridge will light up blue to mark the occasion.
