The Manx Electricity Authority has become the second government victim of hackers in a single day.
The Authority’s Twitter account has been sending suspicious messages to users on the social networking site.
This morning, the government began investigating after it appeared its main account had been hijacked.
A message sent to people following @iomgovernment redirected them to a Facebook page which prompted them to log in to Twitter to see a video.
Users are being advised to ignore any suspicious messages.
