Tindle Newspapers acquired by Iliffe Media Group Ltd and the Fowler family
The parent company of Media Isle of Man has been sold.
Tindle Newspapers has been acquired by English firm Iliffe Media Group Ltd and the Fowler family as part of a joint venture.
Media Isle of Man is responsible for the Isle of Man Examiner, Manx Independent and the Courier.
It also handles the online publications Isle of Man Today and Gef the Mongoose.
Tindle Newspapers also boasted local journalism brands in Wales, the West Country, Surrey, and Hampshire.
Announcing the move across its online publications, Media Isle of Man reassures readers that, for the company's staff, publications and customers, it will very much be 'business as usual'.
The Press Gazette reports how Iliffe and the Fowlers already run a similar joint venture in Scotland with Highland News & Media, which was acquired in 2019, as well as the titles the Newbury Weekly News and Stratford Herald.
