New procedure will be in place initially until the end of March
The decision to close the Manx Emergency Doctors Service, or MEDS, overnight during the week is expected to have minimal impact on patients and staff according to Manx Care.
From the start of next week, the out of hours service will shut from midnight until 8am Monday to Friday, opening as usual for the whole weekend.
This new procedure will be in place initially until the end of March, with a reduction in demand and staff issues being cited as the reasons behind the decision.
Manx Care's Executive Director for Health Services Oliver Radford says they don't expect the change to cause many issues:
