Two options on the table
Two options for potentially merging two local authorities in the south of the Island will be discussed tonight, at the first of two public meetings.
The leaders of Arbory and Rushen commissioners say "while such a merger has been inconclusively discussed by both boards on several occasions over the past decade, it is recognised that it would be a significant step for the parishes to take."
Phil Gawne is the clerk of both authorities.
He told Sian Cowper what the proposals are all about:
Investigation underway after man dies in Barregarrow crossroads collision
DHSC 'taking charge' of Noble's Hospital capacity issues
Police still receiving reports of AI being used for 'cruel purposes' in schools
'Road towards a solution' in sight after 'constructive' fishing talks
Parking and footpath maintenance highlighted as issues of concern in Douglas South
