Residents petition for requsition meeting
A public meeting's being held in Peel tonight (30 Nov) after local residents raised concern over a new housing development on the outskirts of town.
Dandara Homes Ltd has been granted planning permission for 24 properties on a green field site off the Poortown Road
The developer has now revised its plans, and now wants to build almost double that number, 49 smaller properties instead.
A requisition meeting was called by Peel Commissioners who have deferred their response, after residents raised a petition.
It will be held in Corrin Hall in Peel at 7.30pm.
A planning officer will be at tonight's meeting to explain how the planning process works, while Commissioners' clerk Derek Sewell will outline the authority's stance.
Mr Sewell says they want information on three key areas:
Government consultations need 'more objective and neutral' approach
Applications open for role on planning committee
Survey finds half of businesses expect to make cutbacks or redundancies in 2026
