Plans announced after campaign by Ballakermeen students
A nurse described as the Florence Nightingale of the Isle of Man is to be recognised with a memorial garden at Noble's Hospital.
Nelly Brennan, who treated patients during the cholera outbreak, will be recognised following a campaign by pupils at Ballakermeen High School.
The students learnt about her work as part of the Year of the Nurse, and made a presentation to Health Minister David Ashford and staff from the Keyll Darree training centre, calling for her to be honoured.
