Commissioners to dedicate a plaque to the victims
A memorial service is being held for the families of people lost in the Brig Lily shipwreck in Port St Mary.
It's taking place on 10 September at 10am in the garden of remembrance and the commissioners plan to dedicate a plaque to them.
The Brig Lily exploded in December 1852 killing 29 men from the village who were attempting to save it from sinking.
A civic service will be held afterwards at Mount Tabor at 10.30am.
