Duo arrested in Heysham
Two men from Liverpool have been charged with trying to smuggle £100,000 of cannabis to the Isle of Man.
Neil Mentac and Peter Riley of Bootle were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.
They were arrested after a sniffer dog found the drugs in a special compartment inside a car waiting to board the Ben my Chree in Heysham in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Both appeared before Lancaster Magistrates’ Court and were bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on November 6.
