Volunteers needed for dialect study
An appeal has been launched for volunteers, to contribute to a study of Manx-English dialect.
A second-year PhD student at Edge Hill University is carrying out research into the cross-over between the two languages on the Island, and is looking for interviewees.
It's hoped the study will also examine how features of Manx-English dialect relate to local and national identities.
If you're 18 years or over, and interested in taking part in a questionnaire and interview, you're asked to e-mail mccooeyk@edgehill.ac.uk, or write to K. McCooey-Heap, Department of English, History and Creative Writing, Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, Lancashire. L39 4QP.
