Manx Care aiming to treat patients within 18 weeks
Work is underway to stop mental health being seen as a 'poor cousin' to physical health within the Island's healthcare service.
Health Minister Lawrie Hooper says Manx Care is aiming to have all patients referred to the mental health service begin treatment within 18 weeks.
It was recently revealed in Tynwald that the average waiting time for treatment for children is over 200 days.
Mr Hooper says the healthcare provider should give those needing mental health support the same priority as patients with physical ailments:
