The Island's Met Office is warning the rain could lead to large areas of standing water on the roads today.
A yellow weather warning is in place until 2pm, with around 40mm of rain expected over the hills.
Forecasters at Ronaldsway say the rain could make driving conditions difficult for a time this morning.
It's expected the rain will ease by mid-afternoon.
