Church says reports are historical
The head of the Methodist Church on the Island says he’s confident there are no ongoing abuse allegations after the church released a report yesterday.
Ministers on the Island told a UK-wide investigation into abuse dating back to the 1950s they were aware of six allegations on the Isle of Man.
But Reverend David Shirtliff says the cases are historical and deal with accusations against anybody working with the Methodist Church, not just preachers.
He told James Davis he’s confident there’s no reason for alarm following the report’s publication:

Warning over flare disposal after amenity site fire
Suspended sentence for 56-year-old in cannabis supply case
Owner of a block of flats fined for failing to meet fire safety regulations
Review of taxi fares extended to assess impact of Middle East conflict
