
A Douglas MHK says she’s surprised at a row between unions and government over moves which could have ended the bus dispute.
Last week unions claimed an offer had been made and withdrawn, despite members being ready to accept it – while the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure insists it was just a discussion document.
South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft was at a drivers’ meeting where that document was discussed.
She says her impression was that a firm proposal had been tendered by the department:
