Concern over size of Manx juries
An MHK wants the Island's jury system to be examined.
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw says he's become uncomfortable over the years with the Island's use of a seven man jury, as opposed to the twelve man jury used in England.
Next week Mr Robertshaw will ask Tynwald to consider setting up a committee to consider the operation of the jury system on the Island which will report back to the court by next June.
Mr Robertshaw says he believes the concept of the 12 man jury is "sound", whereas the Manx system gives him some concerns:
