Member flags discrepancies between satnav and signs
An MHK says the accuracy of road signage on the Isle of Man is atrocious following concerns over recent changes to speed limits on certain routes.
Onchan member Julie Edge asked about speed data in satnav apps differing from what was displayed on road signs in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall confirmed no information is directly supplied by his department, with providers relying on an automated system for updates.
Ms Edge highlighted a route in the south which shows as 20mph on satnav, despite signs displaying it's in a derestricted zone.
She also told the House new 20mph zones in Douglas appeared on satnav apps before the signage was put in place.
Minister Crookall confirmed he'd check the areas Ms Edge had flagged, after she called for more clarity:
Ms Edge has declared her intention to stand in the upcoming House of Keys General Election; the other candidates for Onchan are Rob Callister, Gabriella Corkish, Rachel Glover and Oliver Lockwood.
