Harmer accused of 'taking a back seat'
An MHK claims the infrastructure minister has done nothing to progress local authority reform during the Quayle administration.
Lawrie Hooper says Ray Harmer has 'taken a back seat' on this subject, and shown 'no willingness' to drive reform on issues like housing at a local level.
On Monday (29 July), Mr Harmer praised moves by Arbory and Rushen Commissioners to explore a merger, calling it part of the 'organic' transition of local authorities.
But this approach has been called in to question by Mr Hooper, who's calling for more to be done:

Amendments to Assisted Dying Bill approved by Tynwald
Indoor play business makes 'very difficult decision' to close
No routine GP appointments Wednesday afternoon
Last chance to submit nominations for local authority by-elections
Rapid review into hospital provides 'clear direction' but there is 'no single solution', says minister
