Backbenchers denied scrutiny opportunity
A substantial question paper at this month's sitting of Tynwald was cut short, to the frustration of an MHK.
There were 103 questions tabled in total, including 53 for oral answer.
It's one of the mechanisms used by backbench MHKs to scrutinise the work of government and the Council of Ministers.
Just 29 of the 53 were answered in the allotted time, at which point Tynwald members were given the option whether or not to continue.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse moved to see the question paper finished, and whilst the Legislative Council agreed with him, the House of Keys voted 11-10 against doing so:
