Press freedoms must be protected, insists politician
A southern MHK has laughed off criticism from a local newspaper.
Last month, a leader column attributed comments made by Jason Moorhouse, relating to editorial rights, as ‘downright stupid’.
The Manx Independent also branded him as ‘clueless’.
However, in his monthly newsletter to constituents, the Arbory, Castletown and Malew member jovially describes himself as becoming the first ‘pantomime villain’ of 2017 saying the newspaper ‘misinterpreted’ his question and comments.
Mr Moorhouse goes onto highlight a clear difference between what he said in Tynwald and what was written, stressing 'press freedoms must be protected'.
