Rob Callister opposed return to red
An Onchan MHK is praising the post office for its decision to repaint a postbox in the village gold.
Rob Callister was one of those who opposed its restoration to pillar box red, after it was gold for ten years to mark Peter Kennaugh’s Olympic success.
Isle of Man Post had been repainting postboxes across the Island as part of a maintenance programme, but has now acknowledged the will of the people and says it will repaint this one gold again in the near future.
Mr Callister admits he didn’t notice the colour change initially:
Meanwhile Peter Kennaugh has taken to social media to thank everyone, especially Onchan residents for their support.
He says it shows the true community spirit we have on the Isle of Man.
