Why hasn't Tynwald been notified of new judge?
The hiring of a new appeal judge has provoked questions in the Island's parliament next week.
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw will ask the Chief Minister why Tynwald members weren't informed that the judicial position had become vacant.
Manx appeal court judges are appointed by the Crown, and until recently, the job was only awarded to off-Island legal professionals.
Mr Robertshaw says his concerns come down to cost.
