
A South Douglas MHK says she believes there are serious problems with the management of Nobles Hospital and describes the situation as "an accident waiting to happen"
Kate Beecroft is tabling a motion at the next sitting of Tynwald, asking for an independent external review of Nobles to take place as soon as possible.
She also believes a review carried out recently by the Cheshire and Mersey critical care network highlighted several issues which urgently need addressing.
These include the fact that current standards don't meet those expected in the NHS regarding critical care and allied acute care services and the perception of medical and nursing staff that emergency patients are often referred too late to receive maximum benefit
