Jason Moorhouse wants to know whether Australia style ban being considered
An MHK is set to ask the chief minister what consideration has been given to placing an age limit on access to social media.
Earlier this year Australia banned access to sites like Tiktok, X, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat for anyone under the age of 16.
Last week UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer pledged to act in "months, not years" to protect young people from addictive social media platforms.
Students on the Isle of Man recently told Manx Radio they would be against a social media ban for under-16s - see HERE.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse says school children on a visit to Tynwald asked him to question in the House of Keys what the Island would be doing in this area:
Tomorrow's House of Keys sitting will get underway at 10am. You can listen live on Manx Radio AM1368, DAB, online and on smartphone apps.
