Current system under review
An MHK says the Department of Health and Social Care has a duty of care to patients travelling to the UK for appointments.
Rob Callister raised concerns about the DHSC using the Steam Packet Company for patient transfers at this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford confirmed a review of the current transfer system is being undertaken.
Mr Callister admits providing transport for those with medical conditions can be challenging, but wants the Department to ensure those heading to the UK for treatment are well looked after during the journey.
