Moorhouse to question minister over suspended curriculum
An MHK says he'd be surprised if a report into the relationship and sex education curriculum is ready at the start of the next academic year.
The advisory curriculum was suspended earlier this year following concerns from parents over the nature of the material being used.
Phase one of the investigation, which looked at claims a drag queen had 'thrown a pupil out of the classroom for disputing the number of genders', was completed several months ago.
It found the claims of a drag queen guest speaker to be inaccurate, with the results of phase two expected to be published at the end of the Summer Term (next week).
Education Minister Julie Edge has since confirmed that the curriculum will be re-introduced in September, and stressed the need for a comprehensive RSE curriculum to be in place.
Jason Moorhouse, from Arbory, Castletown and Malew, will ask Miss Edge for an update on the progress at Tuesday's (18 July) Tynwald sitting.
He told Manx Radio there's still 'huge question marks':
