Ramsey member praises 'pragmatic approach'
A Ramsey MHK has welcomed the news Jersey and Guernsey are looking at changing laws governing cannabis-based medicines there.
Dr Alex Allinson has been speaking following an announcement earlier this week the islands' health departments are looking to reclassify products which have been proven to help or offer relief to people with certain conditions.
They are not looking to change anything regarding its recreational use, though, and would not be permitting the use of the plant itself for medicinal purposes, just products which contain elements of it such as CBD, which is not psychoactive.
Dr Allinson feels it's a pragmatic approach:
