HoK to meet for last time in chamber
Efforts are being made to push the Nicotine Products Bill 2026 through the House of Keys and Legislative Council in one day.
The House of Keys will meet in chamber for the final time in this administration today (30 June).
Cabinet Office Minister, and North Douglas MHK David Ashford, will try and convince his political colleagues to fast-track the bill by asking for a suspension of standing orders.
Seven questions have also been tabled for answer.
Six of them come from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He wants information about income from medicinal cannabis, the value of reserves, nicotine pouches, online sexual-health appointments and cat’s eyes.
The single question not being asked by Mr Moorhouse is from Ramsey MHK, and former Treasury Minister, Alex Allinson.
He wants to know what’s been done to refresh the economic strategy since September last year and what plans there are to publish a new strategy document.
