Manx Rainbow Association's response to MHK's proposed amendments
An MHK's views on same sex marriage have been described as damaging by an LGBT organisation leader.
North Douglas MHK Jon Houghton has proposed a number of amendments to the same sex marriage bill, currently making its way through the House of Keys.
Mr Houghton would like to enable registrars to 'opt out' of performing ceremonies for same sex couples.
He'd also see parents with the power to take their children out of classes where gay marriage is taught.
Founder of the Manx Rainbow Association Lee Vorster says Mr Houghton's views are out of date.
