Government scheme for those saving for a deposit
Those struggling to get on the property ladder, but earning too much to live in social housing, may benefit from a government 'mid-rent scheme'.
It's where eligible people can lease a property for a fixed period, paying around 20% below market rent, whilst saving for a house deposit.
A consultation on the scheme is open until 10 December, with the Department of Infrastructure keen for views on how it should work.
