Work on budget due to get underway next year
The education minister insists not all older primary schools need replacing after confirming plans for a replacement for Scoill yn Jubilee will be progressed next year.
Dr Alex Allinson defended plans to relocate the facility to the cleared site at Park Road, despite the Area Plan for the East zoning the land for residential development.
His comments led to a number of members highlighting other schools in need of replacement.
With work on the budget for the project getting underway next year, Dr Allinson insists Scoill yn Jubilee is no longer suitable:
