
The DCCL minister says an Island tram enthusiast group has jumped the gun in criticising plans for a revamp of Laxey station.
The Manx Electric Railway Society this week issued a strongly worded criticism of plans to install modern street furniture and stainless steel lighting in the village.
The society says the plans could ruin the station's charm and character, largely unchanged for 80 years.
But leisure minister Graham Cregeen says the society has not spoken to the department - and the plans for new benches and lighting are now on hold through lack of funds.
Mr Cregeen says the long-term plan is to make the whole village more attractive - and he'd welcome the society's input:
