The Public Accounts Committee spent an hour quizzing witnesses yesterday as it investigated more than three-quarters of a million pounds spent on consultants looking into the Island’s National Insurance fund.
The consultants were appointed after the Council of Ministers made the decision not to go to competitive tender or issue a waiver under financial rules.
Yesterday, the committee chaired by Alf Cannan asked former Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw and his former chief officer Yvette Mellor why that had happened.
