Ashford says health department monitoring situation
The health minister says urgent treatment for Island patients will continue at hospitals in the Liverpool city area.
The region has been placed under tighter restrictions because of a surge in coronavirus cases and admissions.
David Ashford admits the situation across the water is worrying but says strict regimes are in place to seperate Covid-19 wards from other hospital areas.
He states people with more serious conditions remain the top priority:
