July Tynwald will hear more about Dependability
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says he’ll give another statement to Tynwald about Dependability Ltd, the company carrying out fit-to-work assessments for the government.
It’s come under increased scrutiny from MHKs in recent months, with claims the assessments are unfair to those who’ve been told by their doctor they’re unfit for work in the long-term.
Earlier this month, Mr Teare apologised to the court after it emerged 20 assessments had been carried out by a Dependability employee who wasn’t qualified.
Speaking on Manx Radio’s Present Politics programme, he said he’ll be updating Tynwald when it sits next month:
