Issue on Tynwald question paper
The Island can do better than the UK on the use of medicinal cannabis.
That's the belief of Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson.
In Tynwald tomorrow, he will ask Health Minister David Ashford when the results of a recent public consultation on the issue - which garnered a massive response from members of the public - are due to be published.
Dr Allinson says he believes the evidence is there to show medicinal cannabis can be beneficial for some patients.
He adds, however, that whilst the UK has changed the regulations to allow the prescribing of medicinal cannabis, it hasn't happened:
Manx Radio covered the issue on its Perspective programme, while the consultation was going on earlier this year.
