Dennis Hoffer had fatal crash in practice week
A verdict of misadventure was recorded today at the inquest into the death of a Dutch rider at this year's Manx Grand Prix.
Forty-two-year-old Dennis Hoffer, who was from Hoogkarspel, died after hitting a tree stump near the 13th milestone on August 26, the Tuesday night of practice week.
The inquest heard Mr Hoffer sustained multiple injuries in the high-speed crash.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham said Mr Hoffer died following his passion and would not have suffered.
Representatives from the Manx Motor Cycle Club attended the inquest at Douglas courthouse and passed on their condolences to his family and friends.
